Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to customers. You will load, unload, and deliver propane, collect signatures, and maintain vehicle and equipment to the highest safety standards.

You will collaborate with the Dispatcher for routing, perform regular vehicle inspections, and respond to emergencies as needed. A CDL, Hazmat/Tanker endorsements, and a DOT medical card are preferred, with on-call availability in evenings and

Responsibilities

• Deliver and unload propane safely to customers and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Monitor tank levels, transfer propane, and collect payments when needed.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and coordinate with Fleet Manager/Dispatcher on issues.
• Install propane tanks following state/local codes and safety policies; identify leaks and perform repairs as needed.
• Respond to customer emergencies and maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with Dispatch to optimize routes and schedules.

Job description

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements preferred
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends as needed.

Pay Transparency:

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend. This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
