Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Specialist responsible for safe and timely delivery of propane to customers. You will deliver, load and unload propane while providing excellent customer service, and you will uphold the highest safety standards in delivery and handling, including regular vehicle inspections.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CDL Class A or B, tanker & hazmat endorsements preferred, clean driving record, and up-to-date DOT medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to customers using bulk trucks, tanks, and cylinders.
• Monitor transfer of propane inventory and complete delivery tickets accurately.
• Perform vehicle inspections and maintain safety standards; report mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate issues promptly.
• Provide propane tank installations and respond to customer emergencies.
• Complete tank inspections/repairs and maintain spare tanks for installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker & Hazmat endorsements preferred
• Clean drivers abstract
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed.
