Job summary

Pinnacle Propane is seeking a dedicated propane service technician to safely deliver propane to residential and commercial customers. You will perform daily vehicle inspections, load and transfer propane, and ensure accurate delivery documentation while upholding safety standards.

The role emphasizes clear communication, identifying safety concerns, and maintaining equipment in top condition. Reports to the Operations Manager and requires adherence to DOT, Hazmat, and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum one year in propane service, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, utility, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• CDL Class B with Tanker Endorsement or ability to obtain within company timeframes.
• Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within company timeframes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Ability to pass DOT drug/alcohol testing.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English safely.
• Knowledge of propane equipment and safety procedures is a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Install, set, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and remove propane equipment and lines.
• Install service lines for residential and commercial customers per NFPA/DOT/local regs.
• Perform gas leak tests and safety inspections before service.
• Diagnose and repair propane appliances and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on propane systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
• Respond to emergency service calls following safety procedures.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and inventory in good condition.
• Educate customers on safe propane usage and procedures.
