Job summary

P. Gagnon & Son in Maine is seeking a propane service/install technician to safely install tanks, meet NFPA and local codes, and support delivery operations. You’ll represent the company in the field, ensuring customers heat homes and run operations reliably.

In the first 90 days you’ll train, perform supervised installs, and learn internal systems for orders and inspections, while maintaining CDL credentials and adhering to propane regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class B CDL.
• Customer-facing experience required.
• Strong communication skills essential.
• Comfort with outdoor work in varying weather.
• Basic computer skills for documenting service orders.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical duties.
• HazMat or Tanker endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install propane tanks in compliance with state/local regulations (NFPA 58/54).
• Maintain CDL credentials and pursue required certifications.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and keep equipment in good condition.
• Complete service orders and billing documentation.
• Document and invoice parts used per pricing and proposals.
• Support delivery operations as needed.
