Job summary

Superior Plus Propane in Shelby, NC, is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our customer service center. The role includes propane service, tank installation, leak checks, and on-site inspections, with on-call duties in evenings and weekends.

You will work closely with district leadership, sales teams, drivers, and customers to ensure safe, timely service, responding to emergencies and maintaining equipment at customer locations. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B, or willingness to obtain within first year of employment.
• Hazmat/Tanker endorsement preferred.
• 2–3 years propane/oil service experience preferred; HVAC exposure is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Propane service and tank installation.
• Identify and correct leaks from the tank to equipment connection.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed.
• Rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Perform tank maintenance and prep spare tanks for service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations.
• Communicate proactively with District Manager, Service Coordinator, Sales reps, drivers, and customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Propane service and tank installation.
• Able to identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection.
• Respond to customer emergencies as needed
• Rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed
• Perform tank maintenance spare tanks located in the plants in preparation for putting them in service.
• Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations.
• Consistently communicate proactively with the District Manager, Service Coordinator, Sales reps, drivers, and customers as necessary

What you bring:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• CDL Class A or B or willingness to obtain within first year of employment in the position
• Hazmat/ Tanker endorsement preferred
• 2-3 years propane/oil service preferred; HVAC
