Job summary

Tiger Fuel Company is seeking a Propane Service Technician to install, repair and maintain propane systems for our Orange, VA customers. You will work hands-on, often independently, prioritizing safety and exceptional service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2+ years of propane heating installation/repair experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to manage on-site records. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of propane heating installation/repair experience is preferred.
• Troubleshooting and maintaining propane-operated appliances is expected.
• Clean driving record; drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain propane distribution systems for retail customers.
• Provide emergency response and system installation/testing.
• Deliver excellent customer service and answer inquiries during daily interactions.
• Inspect vehicle and report needed equipment or maintenance.
• Keep work area and vehicle clean and organized; manage tools and materials.
• Prepare and maintain records per regulations and procedures.
• Operate vehicle safely according to procedures.
• Load, secure, transport and unload propane equipment to destinations.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend responses.

Job description

We're looking for an outstanding individual to join our team and contribute to the company's legacy of service and safety as a Propane Service Technician. This is a great opportunity for a customer-focused, mechanically inclined person. Propane service technicians are hands on! You'll be doing everything from setting tanks and running lines, to fine-tuning propane appliances and equipment. You'll get to work independently, with other Tiger teammates, with contractors, and most importantly, our amazing customers. Every day is different as you get to work with a wide variety of equipment and people.

Job Duties:

• Installs, repairs and maintains propane distribution systems for retail customers.
• Responsible for providing emergency response and system installation and testing.
• Provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries during daily interactions.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies or routine maintenance.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and vehicle by keeping tools, equipment and materials in proper places
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operates vehicle in accordance to established safety procedures.
• Loads, secures, transports, delivers and unloads propane equipment to and from specified destinations.
• Requires on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ideally 2 or more years of experience with installation and repair of propane-based heating systems, equipment and appliances
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining propane operated appliances
• Clean driving record
• Drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check required
