Job summary

ThompsonGas is seeking an Operations Manager for our Barnwell, SC branch to plan and supervise day-to-day operations, including product distribution, storage, sales and service, while building strong customer relationships.

You will oversee scheduling, invoicing, and workforce planning for seasonal demand, coordinate fleet maintenance, and manage dispatch activities. The role requires leadership, safety compliance, and the ability to work evenings or weekends, with lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Past field work in propane and distillate retail is desired.
• CDL license and HazMat endorsements are required or must be obtained.
• DOT safety knowledge is expected.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service-related scheduling, customer care, and invoicing.
• Plan workforce and material needs for seasonal demand and coverage.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, and licensing.
• Manage distribution and storage activities and dispatch.
• Ensure safety meetings and DOT compliance are completed on time.
• Perform performance reviews and approve weekly time cards as applicable.
