Job summary

TRI GAS & OIL CO INC in Pocomoke City, MD seeks a Propane Delivery Driver with a CDL Hazmat endorsement to safely deliver propane to customers. The role requires a positive attitude toward safety, sales, and customer service, with availability for after-hours and weekend emergencies.

Responsibilities include loading, transporting, delivering, and securing propane, inspecting the vehicle, maintaining records, and supporting sales initiatives.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat endorsement required.
• 2+ years of related delivery experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and background check.

• Operates truck following safety procedures.
• Interacts with customers and provides excellent service; supports sales initiatives.
• Participates in after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries as needed.
• Ensures all DOT requirements are met.
• Performs other duties including yard/plant maintenance or dock work.

Job Details: Job Location: Pocomoke Office - Pocomoke, MD, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: CDL with Hazmat endorsement, Salary Range: $24.00 - $29.00Hourly, Job Category: Transportation,$2,000 Sign-On Bonus available to experienced LP Delivery Drivers who can independently perform propane deliveries upon hire.The Propane Delivery Driver position requires an individual to safely drive a propane delivery vehicle to customer locations. This position also requires someone with a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward Safety, Sales, customer Service and Employee Team-Work. Making deliveries in all type of weather and conditions. Overtime is possible in the heating season.

Essential Functions:

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane to and from specified destinations.
• Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operates truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
• Assists with sales initiatives.
• Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response.
• Ensures all DOT requirements are always met.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to yard and plant maintenance or dock work.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Prior gas delivery experience helpful.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and driving conditions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with existing and potential customers.
• Flexibility to perform duties outside of the basic job description.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to succeed and advance in a team environment.
• Willingness to take direction from the Plant Manager.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug test, and Homeland Security background check.
• Ability to frequently lift cylinders weighing 40–50 pounds.
