Job summary

Phat Panda in Spokane Valley, WA is seeking a Propagation Lead to oversee day-to-day care of our cannabis plants and lead a Plant Cultivation team. This full-time on-site role focuses on keeping propagation areas clean, organized, and on schedule while coaching team members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six+ months of plant/agriculture experience preferred.
• Comfortable coaching and directing a team through daily assignments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the health and appearance of plants, catching issues early.
• Ensure plants are properly watered and pruned on schedule.
• Keep the work area and all equipment clean and organized.
• Sanitize the grow facility and set up new grow rooms as needed.
• Coach and guide crew members to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Direct team members, assign daily work, and field questions from the team.
• Stay on top of daily and upcoming operations using online spreadsheets and email.
• Partner with management on personnel matters, including performance feedback and scheduling changes.
• Support Research & Development projects as assigned.

About the Role

As our Propagation Lead, you'll oversee the day-to-day care of our plants from the ground up, guiding a team of Plant Cultivation team members while keeping our propagation area running clean, organized, and on schedule. You'll be a hands-on leader who sets the standard for plant health, coaches team members through daily assignments, and keeps management informed on how the team and the crop are doing.

• Partner with management on personnel matters, including performance feedback, disciplinary recommendations, and schedule or position changes
• Support Research & Development projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Six or more months of plant or agriculture-related experience preferred
• Comfortable coaching and directing a team through daily assignments
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable following both written and verbal direction

Physical Demands

• Regular sitting or standing for long periods while performing repetitive hand tasks; pulling, pushing, carrying up to 10 lbs, and grasping
• Frequent walking, reaching, and use of taste or smell
• Occasional climbing, stooping, crouching, crawling, carrying up to 25 lbs, talking, or hearing
• Clear vision at 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, and the ability to differentiate colors

Working Conditions

• Exposure to constant or intermittent moderate to loud noise during a shift
• Occasional exposure to workplace hazards or potential injury
• Exposure to dusts, fumes, vapors, or mists common to a cultivation environment
• Possible exposure to some toxic or caustic chemicals
