Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Prop & Calualty Claims Associate in the Department of Administrative Services. The role focuses on reviewing, investigating, and evaluating claims across multiple lines to determine eligibility for reimbursement and compensation.

You will coordinate the full lifecycle of claims, monitor activity, and prepare detailed investigations for leadership. The position supports a hybrid work environment with some days in the office, and may require travel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Five years of job-related experience; at least one year in a lead/supervisory role.
  • Equivalent to two years at lower level Admin Assistant 2 or similar position.

Responsibilities

  • Review, investigate and evaluate claims to determine eligibility for reimbursement or compensation.
  • Manage claims across multiple lines (general liability, auto liability, cyber, etc.).
  • Coordinate all aspects of claim lifecycle from incident reporting to closure.
  • Analyze trends and recommend risk-reduction strategies.
  • Prepare investigative summaries and reports for management.

Provides program-related research, statistical analysis, performs investigations or audits and/or provides assistance to claimants. May serve as lead worker. Claims Administration Manage assigned claims across multiple lines of insurance, including general liability, auto liability, cyber, and other claims. Coordinate all aspects of the claim lifecycle from incident reporting through closure. Monitor claim activity and follow up with adjusters, medical providers, attorneys, employees, customers, supervisors, and leadership to facilitate timely claim resolution. Analyze claim trends, exposures, and recurring incidents to recommend strategies that reduce risk, control costs, and improve workplace safety. Prepare detailed investigative summaries, reports, and recommendations for management. Operational Excellence Maintain organized claim files while utilizing claims data and trend analysis to improve processes, reduce risk, and support audit readiness. Support departmental projects and continuous improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional analytical, investigative, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and prepare and present findings to leadership. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and resolve conflict professionally. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Ability to research laws, regulations, policies, and claim documentation to support informed decision-making. Knowledge of general liability claims, risk management, and applicable federal and state regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and claims management systems. This position may require occasional travel. Completion of a pre-employment background check is required .
