NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP in the United States seeks a Manager - Projects Unit to coordinate activities among project managers, engineers and construction management across Maine, New York and Connecticut. The role ensures projects meet budgets, schedules, scope and engineering standards in line with the investment plan.

The position requires strong leadership, governance and risk management, with responsibility for reporting, regulatory interaction and team performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance of team to meet goals, schedules and budgets.
• Identify interdependencies across the project portfolio and resolve interactions.
• Control project scope and mitigate changes; ensure quality of work packages.
• Produce briefings and status reports for executives or regulatory agencies.
• Represent the company in regulatory or public proceedings or permitting requirements.
• Ensure governance processes and cross-functional collaboration within portfolio.
• Coach team members; lead cross-functional or virtual teams; coordinate internal and external personnel.
• Lead team meetings and monitor progress against plans with course corrections as needed.
• Develop procurement strategies for materials and labor.
• Support project initiatives for compliance, standardization, and process improvement.
• Promote automation and efficiencies in day-to-day work streams.
• Oversee project accountability in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., FERC, NERC).
