Job summary

Assemble Cinemas in Manhasset is seeking a part-time Projection Technician to oversee picture and sound across three auditoriums and to work with the Theater & Operations Manager. You will build weekly show schedules, ingest DCPs, and manage KDM validity while operating digital projection and audio systems during screenings and events.

The role requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability, hands-on equipment upkeep, and the ability to train staff on booth operations.

Qualifications

• Full working knowledge of modern digital cinema projectors, cinema servers, TMS platforms, DCP formats, and KDM management.
• Cinema audio and signal-flow knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

Join the founding team at the reopening Manhasset Cinemas. Oversee picture and sound quality across three auditoriums, working with the Theater & Operations Manager. Build weekly show schedules and playlists; ingest DCPs and manage KDM validity; operate digital projection and sound systems; support private screenings, repertory programming, and community events. Perform presentation checks, routine equipment upkeep, troubleshooting, and technical recordkeeping. Train managers and shift leads on booth operations.

Requirements

• Full working knowledge of modern digital cinema projectors, cinema servers, TMS platforms, DCP formats, and KDM management.
• Cinema audio and signal-flow knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality are essential.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/lifts, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Part-time, hourly, non-exempt. $23–$25/hour, commensurate with experience. On-site in Manhasset, NY 11030. Hours vary with programming and special events.
