Assemble Cinemas in Manhasset, NY is seeking a Janitor/Porter to perform deep cleaning and daily upkeep of the historic theater, including the auditoriums, lobby, restrooms, and back-of-house areas.

The role primarily covers early mornings before showtimes, with some post-event and weekend shifts based on programming. You will follow a checklist, maintain supplies, and report facility issues to management promptly.

Qualifications

• Prior commercial or facilities cleaning experience is preferred.
• Reliability and self-direction — works independently to a checklist and a standard.
• Early morning availability required; some evening, weekend, and post-event shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to stand, bend, move, and lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily deep cleaning of all three auditoriums, including floors, seating, cupholders, aisles, and entryways.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily, and restock supplies throughout the building.
• Clean lobby, entry, box office, and concession-adjacent public areas, including glass, floors, and fixtures.
• Vacuum, mop, sweep, dust, and remove trash and recycling throughout the facility.
• Perform periodic detail work, including carpet spotting, high dusting, and back-of-house and storage area cleaning.
• Monitor and report facility issues — plumbing, lighting, damage, or safety hazards — to management promptly.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, and notify management of reorder needs.
• Follow all safety and chemical-handling procedures.

Position Summary

The Janitor / Porter is responsible for the deep cleaning and daily upkeep that keep a historic theater looking its best. Working primarily early morning hours before the theater opens, this role ensures the auditoriums, lobby, restrooms, and back-of-house areas are spotless, well-stocked, and ready for guests every day. Cleanliness is central to this theater's identity, and this position is essential to it.
