Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company's Water Heating Division in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Projection Welder to operate resistance-welding equipment, set up welding machines, and run automated equipment according to print specifications.

The role requires standing for long periods, frequent lifting (25–60 lbs, occasional over 60 lbs), tape-measure reading, daily production reporting, quality checks, and adherence to safety and Rheem values while supporting internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide)
• Ability to interpret measurement devices such as a tape measure
• Lift truck skills may be tested on 3rd shift only

Responsibilities

• Operate resistance-welding equipment to fabricate parts per print specifications
• Set up welding machine
• Run an automated piece of equipment independently
• Change out dies in automated equipment
• Troubleshoot sequencing errors on automated equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on machines
• Fill out daily production reports detailing what was produced
• Identify and label parts produced
• Interpreting measurement devices such as a tape measure
• Perform quality checks including material destructive testing
• Work in the work center as directed by supervision
• Observe departmental safety requirements
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship
• Work from written or verbal orders
• Practice and support Rheem values with customers
• May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust, and airborne particles
• Performs other duties as assigned
