Job summary

Rheem in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Projection Welder for the Water Heating Division. You will operate resistance-welding equipment, set up machines, run automated lines and support quality and safety standards.

This role requires a High School Diploma/GED, the ability to perform basic math, lift 25–60 lbs repeatedly, and stand/walk for long shifts, with forklift skills tested on certain shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply whole numbers.
• The following skills will be tested: Lift truck. (3rd shift only).
• Continuous lifting of 25-60 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
• Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.

Responsibilities

• Operate resistance-welding equipment to fabricate parts according to print specifications.
• Set-up welding machine.
• Run an automated piece of equipment independently.
• Change out dies in an automated piece of equipment.
• Troubleshoot sequencing error on an automated piece of equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on machine.
• Fill out daily production report detailing what was produced for that day.
• Identify and label parts produced.
• Interpret measurement devices such as a tape measure.
• Perform quality checks including material destructive testing.
• Follow supervision directions in the work center.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Support Rheem values with customers.
