Job Description

The Programmable/Automatic Press Operator will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

Responsibilities

Operator must understand the safety of the entire line including: Loading coils, feeding steel through straightener and feeder, first and last progression of the die, and emergency shut down of press equipment.
Must properly set and use light curtains.
Must understand proper start up and shut down of equipment.
Must set indicators for material thickness.
Must set guides for material width.
Must understand CNC controls such as: Link 2500, Tonnage Monitor, PLC feed system.
Operator is to properly identify and retrieve steel according to steel codes (proper material thickness and width), and load coil through the feeder system.
Assist die setter as required.
Monitor complete operations to ensure proper operation of press system and to maintain maximum production for which the system is designed.
Make all adjustments as required for proper press operations.
Must identify, troubleshoot, and correct operation of press line.
May involve communicating with die setter, maintenance, or tooling.
Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
Work from written or verbal orders.
Observe all departmental safety requirements.
Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
Maintain quality standards.
Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED.
Must be able to add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions and decimals.
Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision.
Team oriented.
Candidate must promote Rheem Values of Integrity, Teamwork and Business Ethics.
Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift.
Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
