Qualifications

• Knowledge of common boundary establishment methods and analysis.
• Indiana licensure required as a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities

• Performs boundary calculations, analysis, and field support calculations.
• Directs survey crews and technicians; assigns tasks.
• Prepares boundary resolution and calculations.
• Evaluates and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Works on multiple projects; manages project scope and budgets.
• Completes technical mapping and final drawings for agency submittals.
• Researches deeds, title reports, ROW/E, and mapping.
• Drafts legal descriptions, easements, plats, and surveys.
• Ensures project documentation is completed and signed; communicates results to management.

Job Summary:

The role of the Project Surveyor is to organize, coordinate, and manage projects which include a broad range of assignments requiring knowledge of surveying/mapping. This includes writing legal descriptions, drafting plats and surveys, resolving boundary issues, cost estimating for project proposals, and managing survey projects. To support these responsibilities, the individual should possess good organization, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Performs boundary calculations, analysis, and field support calculations.
• Performs Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Reviews.
• Assigns tasks to and directs survey crews and technicians.
• Prepares boundary resolution and calculations.
• Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Works on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
• Completes technical mapping and final drawings for agency submittals and specifications for approval.
• Conducts research and analysis, title reports, ROW/E, Land Title Surveys, topography, and mapping.
• Reads, researches, and interprets deeds and maps.
• Drafts legal descriptions.
• Prepares easements, plats, and surveys.
• Manages project budget and reports project results to management as directed.
• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization on an ongoing basis but no less than monthly and at project completion.
• Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.
• Manages project scope and modifies pricing and agreements, as applicable due to scope changes.
• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Education:

• IN – Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying or related field.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Licensed Land Surveyor in Indiana required

Work Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience
• AutoCAD Skills.
• Strong written and oral communication.
