Job summary

Abonmarche is seeking a Survey Crew Chief for our Hobart, IN office to lead field survey crews and oversee daily operations including staking and topographic surveys.

The role requires 5+ years of survey construction layout, strong ability to read plans, and independent work ethic. Travel and per diem are possible as projects demand.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of survey construction layout experience.
• Experience with Topcon equipment with magnet field software a plus.
• Ability to perform data collector calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Ability to work independently.
• Organizational skills to plan, schedule and complete assignments within timeframes.
• Capable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and technicians.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the daily activities of field Survey crew.
• In charge of daily crew operations such as construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveys.
• Prepares daily field notes on projects.
• Performs minor calculations in the field for staking.
• Performs daily data uploads and downloads.
• Maintains survey equipment and vehicles.
• Provide direction to survey technicians.
• Perform quality control.
• May require travel and overnight stay. Daily per diem provided for lodging and meals.
