Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. in the Southeast seeks a Project Superintendent I to supervise field operations on multimillion-dollar projects in Brevard and Indian River County, FL. You will lead onsite teams, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence, and drive project execution.

The role requires extensive construction leadership, clear communication, and proven ability to manage field resources. This exempt, full-time position offers growth within a respected GC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or construction-related education preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of construction-related experience with multimillion-dollar projects.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing field personnel and project execution.
• Ability to coordinate resources, manpower, schedules, and field issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.
• Maintain a safe and organized workplace.
• Conduct pre-task meetings with subcontractors.
• Coordinate permit and inspection processes.
• Oversee project setup and temporary facilities, including site utilization plans.
• Manage field document control and project documentation.
• Complete and review daily reports and progress photographs.
• Supervise material handling activities and logs.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and conduct meetings.
• Manage and maintain as-built drawings weekly.
• Participate in Project Job Reviews (PJR).
• Process field purchases and maintain FPO log.
• Maintain positive client and RPR relationships.
• Perform project progress reviews and punch list walkthroughs.
• Review scopes of work and identify gaps or conflicts.
