Overview
We’re partnering with a well‑established, owner‑led construction firm based in Eastern Kentucky to hire a Project Superintendent to lead on‑site execution of ground‑up commercial construction projects.
This role is reporting directly to company leadership. You will own the jobsite, manage subcontractors effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Projects are primarily commercial builds with a strong focus on K‑12 school construction, typically ranging from 8 months to 2 years in duration. Superintendents are assigned one project at a time to ensure full ownership and execution.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all on‑site construction activities for ground‑up commercial projects
- Own and manage the project schedule, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
- Coordinate and supervise multiple subcontractors across trades
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with internal leadership, clients, and subs
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues, delays, and coordination challenges
- Oversee project closeout, punch list completion, and final inspections
- Drive a culture of accountability, quality, and jobsite professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on ground‑up commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of multiple trades (electrical‑only backgrounds will not be a fit)
- Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and jobsite operations end‑to‑end
- Track record of delivering projects on schedule
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to run a jobsite and represent the company well
- Experience with K‑12 or large commercial building projects is strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and take full ownership of a project
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week.
- Standard hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Company prioritizes efficiency and planning over excessive hours (no expectation of 50+ hour weeks)
- Company truck, gas card, phone, and computer provided
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance (80/20 split)
- 401(k) with match
- Company‑paid life insurance ($20K)
- Additional voluntary benefits (accident, hospital, cancer, short‑term disability)
