Job summary

TYLin in Rochester, New York, is seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join its Buildings team. You will contribute to structural design and analysis for a range of building projects, coordinating with staff and clients to deliver practical, innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Master’s degree would be considered an asset.
• Professional licensure (P.E. preferred; S.E. an asset).
• 3–6 years of experience in structural engineering for buildings.
• Experience with historic building preservation is a plus.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, SAP, RAM).
• Working knowledge of REVIT; client-focused and innovative.

Job Summary

TYLin's Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings around the world. Our primary services, structural engineering for buildings, include new construction projects, as well as renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. Within that broad range, we offer further expertise in specific services including architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services.

We are seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join our TYLin Buildings team in Rochester, New York.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
• Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
• Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
• Coordinating with staff and clients on projects.

Qualifications (including education and/or job experience)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
• P.E. license preferred; S.E. license would be considered an asset.
• 3-6 years of experience in the execution of residential, commercial, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required.
• Experience in historic buildings preservation would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM).
• Working knowledge of REVIT.
• Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $70,000 - $100,000 annually for this position and local market.
