Job Description

CMS Energy is seeking two experienced Project Scheduler III professionals to support project scheduling and coordination efforts across its utility infrastructure projects. This position requires strong experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to interact effectively with various project stakeholders. While the role is primarily remote, occasional onsite presence in Jackson, MI, will be required for departmental meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage project scheduling systems to support the planning and execution of complex projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6, including activity coding, resource assignments, and critical path analysis.
• Track project progress, log updates, and generate reporting outputs to support contract coordination.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and contractors to define scope and schedule requirements.
• Analyze variances from the original plan and propose corrective actions or alternative work paths.
• Conduct regular status reviews with superintendents and field engineers.
• Participate in change management and maintain accurate and timely schedule data.
• Perform recovery analysis and scenario planning for delayed or at-risk schedules.
• Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably in the utilities or energy sector.
• Proven experience with Primavera P6, including use of layouts, activity codes, resources, group/sort functions, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to interface effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
• Must be able to work independently in a remote environment while attending occasional in-person meetings in Jackson, MI.

Preferred:

• PMP, PSP, CST, or other PMI/AACEI certifications (preferred, not required).
• Knowledge of schedule quality standards and project gating procedures.
• Prior experience in gas and electric distribution/transmission projects is a significant plus.
