Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Scheduler to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules across proposal, planning, construction, and closeout phases. You will serve as the primary Primavera P6 scheduling resource and collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and 2+ years in scheduling, with strong CPM, Gantt, and English

• 2+ years of project planning/scheduling experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience with Gantt charts and CPM/critical path analysis.
• Experience leading the execution of planning/scheduling activities on projects.
• Understanding of EPC/full-service project delivery processes.
• Experience using Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software.
• Possesses excellent English oral and written communication skills.
• Independent, proactive, accurate, with strong analytical and organizing skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
• Experience with Accumen Fuse.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules from proposal through closeout.
• Serve as the primary Primavera P6 scheduling resource for assigned projects, maintaining schedule accuracy, baselines, milestones, progress, and forecast completion dates.
• Develop Level III and, when required, Level IV schedules incorporating engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, subcontractor, and client activities.
• Partner with Project Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Construction, and Project Controls to align schedules with project scope and execution plans.
• Perform critical path, float, variance, milestone, resource, productivity, and schedule risk analysis to identify potential delays and opportunities.
• Develop look-ahead schedules, progress reports, dashboards, KPIs, schedule narratives, resource forecasts, and other project controls reporting.
• Identify scheduling issues and risks and develop mitigation, recovery, acceleration, and what-if scenarios to support project execution.
• Support schedule impact, delay, change, and claims analysis while maintaining accurate and traceable scheduling documentation.
• Integrate schedule information with project cost, cash flow, forecasting, earned value, and other financial performance processes.
• Lead or participate in schedule review and planning meetings, communicating project status, constraints, risks, and required actions to stakeholders.
• Maintain scheduling standards, data quality, and contractual requirements while supporting continuous improvement of project controls processes.
• Provide guidance and training to project teams on Primavera P6, scheduling best practices, and project controls standards.

Overview

Locations: Charlotte, NC (must be local/within a commutable distance)

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite with Regional Travel

Travel: Approximately 25% (Mileage and travel expenses reimbursed)

Compensation: $77,000 – $103,000

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and managing project schedules throughout all phases of assigned projects. This person serves as the primary scheduling resource for small-to-medium projects or defined scopes within larger projects and may also support proposal and bid schedules. The role develops schedules ranging from high-level milestones through detailed working schedules using input from project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. The Project Scheduler identifies schedule issues and risks, analyzes project performance, recommends mitigation or recovery actions, and works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Pre-Construction, and Project Controls to support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
