Job Summary
Position requires ability to market the company to new clients and develop turnkey solutions, including estimating/proposal presentation for mechanical and plumbing retrofit projects in residential and commercial markets. Position also requires ability to manage existing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical Systems Knowledge: Competent understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems and how they function. Includes surveying systems, understanding needs and problems, determining repair/ modification/replacement requirements, interpreting drawings and job conditions.
- Estimating: Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed. Develop proposals for current or prospective customers. Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions.
- Proposals: Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including requests for proposals and industry‑specific solutions. Provide modification/repair/replacement recommendations and document them so the customer and operations department understand what is required. Propose cost‑effective solutions.
- Prospecting: Qualify prospects, make effective sales presentations, answer questions and objections in a proficient and responsible manner. Understand prospects needs both technically and financially. Promptly follow up on leads and referrals, establish customer rapport, and maintain an active backlog of quotes to assure booking goals are consistently met.
- Customer Relations: Promptly address customer concerns to assure resolution of problems and maintain long‑term positive relationships. Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors and other outside agents. Effectively represent the company’s interests and outside agents to maximize profits.
- Other: Plan and efficiently schedule appointments and manage personal time to assure maximum productivity, including aggressive management of quotes to close sales.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of experience and knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components.
- 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships.
- 1–2 years of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and communicate energy savings associated with proposed solutions.
- Experience preparing financial justifications, including energy savings analysis, preferred.
- Experience with industrial refrigeration preferred.

Salary: $71,078.81 – $106,618.22 (actual offer varies by candidate based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location).
