Our mission is to provide high quality mechanical, electrical and plumbing solutions through service and retro-fit construction; provide continuous education to our employees; lead the industry with innovation and technology.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Sales Engineer is a senior, revenue-generating sales role responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing large-scale MEP construction and retrofit projects, with a primary focus on design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid opportunities of $5 million and above. This position is expected to arrive with established relationships across owners, general contractors, developers, and consulting engineers, and a working command of mechanical systems sufficient to engage credibly in technical scoping and value-engineering discussions. The Project Sales Engineer will own the full pursuit lifecycle from lead identification through estimate development, proposal strategy, contract negotiation, and handoff to project execution, while serving as the primary client relationship owner throughout the project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue large-scale project opportunities ($5M+) in HVAC, mechanical, and building-systems construction, retrofit, and preventative maintenance work.
  • Leverage established relationships and industry network to generate a qualified pipeline of new project opportunities from day one.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, construction managers, architects, and consulting engineers.
  • Lead the end-to-end pursuit process: opportunity identification, teaming strategy, scope development, estimating oversight, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop competitive, accurate budgets and formal estimates for large and complex project work.
  • Develop and present technical and commercial proposals, qualifications packages, and contract terms for major project pursuits.
  • Represent the company at industry events, pre-bid meetings, owner/GC walkthroughs, and trade organization functions to build market presence and generate leads.
  • Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans, including pipeline forecasting, win-rate analysis, and quarterly revenue projections.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and scope with clients and general contractors to protect margin while securing awards.
  • Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, service, and construction departments to ensure a smooth transition from sale to execution and to protect client expectations.
  • Monitor awarded project performance and maintain an ongoing client relationship through project completion and into future pursuits.
  • Prepare and present pipeline, forecast, and win/loss reports to sales leadership.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, competitor activity, codes, and emerging HVAC technologies.
  • Maintain continuing education and industry credentials relevant to HVAC systems and large-project sales.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Demonstrated success bidding, negotiating, and closing HVAC projects of $5 million or greater in individual contract value.
  • An established network of owner, GC, and consulting-engineer relationships within the target market.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems design, application, and construction methods, sufficient to engage credibly in technical and value-engineering conversations.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Skilled in developing complex estimates, budgets, and proposals for large-scale project and negotiated work.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, present to, and negotiate with C-suite and senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and formal presentation delivery.
  • Strategic account planning and pipeline management discipline; comfortable owning and forecasting a multi-million-dollar pipeline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/estimating platforms.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally to meet with clients, attend site walks, and support pursuits.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive sales experience in HVAC or mechanical construction/services, with a track record of closing project work at the $5 million+ level.
