This role will support aviation clients onsite across the western United States, including terminals at major airports, and will demand deep knowledge of design and construction within active airport environments. The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of capital project leadership, manage programs over $10M, and use strong scheduling, cost control and stakeholder engagement skills to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or similar.
  • Minimum 15 years of construction and/or project management experience.
  • Experience managing capital projects/programs over $10M.
  • Knowledge of airport operations and airport facilities construction.
  • Experience overseeing multiple construction activities on complex capital programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management, technical oversight and leadership for aviation capital projects.
  • Guide discipline managers and contractors to address program challenges.
  • Develop project controls, governance, and schedules aligning with goals.
  • Manage engineering, pre-construction, construction, bidding, budgeting, and commissioning.

  • Operate earned value management and conduct progress meetings.

Overview

STV is seeking experienced Project/Program Managers - Aviation to join our national aviation team. This role may assist aviation clients onsite throughout the western U.S. Client sites include Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; and Los Angeles, CA. A successful candidate will have significant aviation experience and have previously managed design or construction within an active airport terminal environment.


Responsibilities


  • Provide project management, technical oversight and leadership for all phases of aviation projects associated with a capital improvement, including, but not limited to; business case development, stakeholder engagement, design management, design and construction procurement, permitting and federal/state approvals, scheduling, project delivery, cost and change management, safety, quality control, and ORAT.


  • Provide guidance to discipline managers and contractors to address key program challenges, risk management, innovation, schedule and budget performance.


  • Provide leadership to ensure that responsibilities are accomplished to a high degree of quality which exceeds the client’s expectations.


  • Develop project-level processes and procedures, project controls, and governance that align to and drive overall project goals.


  • Manage and oversee all aspects of project planning and development, including engineering and pre-construction/construction; bidding strategy; schedules; cost estimating; budget oversight; systems and facility integration; and commissioning/activation.


  • Facilitates coordination with stakeholders including airport operating divisions, airline operations, regulatory agencies and other delivery partners and oversight entities, as required.


  • Facilitates the development of the overall program schedule and oversees the integration of project-level schedules.


  • Utilizes earned value management to track and manage the program and associated projects.


  • Schedule and conduct design and/or construction progress meetings.


  • Drive the planning, design, and construction deliverables to successfully meet the deliverable dates.


  • Present progress to stakeholders and project delivery partners.


  • Use electronic tools including Primavera P6, PMIS, and other related software systems.


  • Coordinate maintenance of traffic and phasing plans, utility shutdown requests, impact notices, disruption notices, contingency planning and other tasks as needed.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or similar designation.


  • Minimum 15 years of construction and/or project management experience.


  • Experience in successful management of capital projects/programs over $10M.


  • Knowledge of airport operations, design, and construction of airport facilities is required.


  • Experience overseeing multiple construction activities concurrently as part of a complex capital infrastructure project is preferred.



Compensation range: $187,591.53 - $214,390.32.
