Job summary

CMC seeks a Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing for project-based work, coordinating RFQs from 5 to 100+ items. You will assess proposals, negotiate terms, and build strategic supplier relationships to support large-scale projects.

Based in Baton Rouge or neighboring Texas locations, you will partner with Sales, Operations and Estimating to optimize cost efficiency and delivery performance across national mega-projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, estimating.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement strategy for project-based sourcing, including RFQs ranging from 5 to 100+ line items.
• Analyze vendor proposals to assess pricing, material availability, lead times, and value; make sourcing recommendations.
• Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Estimating leadership to influence project execution and provide data-driven procurement insights.
• Drive sourcing strategy for national and mega-project initiatives, identifying risks and mitigation plans.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects' procurement demands and timelines.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of sourcing operations.
• Prepare and present procurement analyses and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships, negotiating favorable terms and identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and supply reliability


• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Estimating leadership to influence project execution strategy, advise on material sourcing feasibility, and provide data-driven procurement insights


• Drive sourcing strategy for national and mega-project initiatives, including early-stage construction opportunities, proactively identifying risks and developing mitigation plans


• Prioritize and manage competing procurement demands across multiple active projects, exercising discretion in resource allocation and timeline management


• Identify process improvement opportunities within the procurement function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of sourcing operations


• Prepare and present procurement analyses and recommendations to internal stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making at the project and leadership level
