Job summary

Trek Bikes is seeking a Manufacturing Training & Repair Technician in Waterloo, WI. This role focuses on developing employee capabilities through structured training, cross-training initiatives, and hands-on repair and rework activities to support production and product quality.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in manufacturing or bike shop experience, with preference for those who have trained or mentored others. Join a team committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, repair, or production, or bike shop experience.
  • 1-2 years training, mentoring, or coaching employees preferred.
  • Experience with product repair, rework, buffing, polishing, finishing, and cosmetic restoration preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of urgency and effective problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onboarding and training for new employees on products, processes, technologies, tools, and standard work instructions.
  • Develop, maintain, and administer training programs to improve workforce skills and competency.
  • Manage and update employee skill matrices and training records.
  • Evaluate employee proficiency and recommend development opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility and operational coverage.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, work instructions, and process guides.
  • Conduct follow-up evaluations to verify training effectiveness and retention.
  • Perform product repairs and rework activities on products and assemblies.
  • Diagnose product defects and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain repair logs, tracking systems, and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to identify recurring issues and implement improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who takes initiative, works independently with minimal direction, and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in supporting employee development, product quality, and repair activities.
