Job summary

TalentSphere is seeking a Project Manager for Commercial Roofing & Sheet Metal in NW Indiana/Chicago area, overseeing projects from turnover through closeout with strong field support.

You will manage schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and coordinate with owners, GCs, architects, and subcontractors. Local travel, backlogs, stable pipeline.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial roofing projects
• Sheet metal experience is highly desirable
• Comfortable working within a union environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience with Procore, Dataforma, or similar project management software
• A collaborative Project Manager who takes ownership and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial roofing and sheet metal projects from start to finish
• Leading project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and overall execution
• Building strong relationships with owners, GCs, architects, and subcontractors
• Running project meetings and coordinating field operations
• Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
• Working closely with superintendents to ensure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and meet quality standards
• Overseeing multiple active projects simultaneously

$90,000-$110,000 Base + Vehicle/Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a respected commercial roofing contractor with an outstanding reputation across the Chicago and Northwest Indiana market. Business is growing, work continues to be awarded, and they are adding another Project Manager to support an expanding pipeline of commercial roofing and sheet metal projects.

This is a true growth hire—not a replacement.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll have full ownership of your projects from turnover through closeout while working alongside experienced field leaders and office support.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing commercial roofing and sheet metal projects from start to finish
• Leading project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and overall execution
• Building strong relationships with owners, GCs, architects, and subcontractors
• Running project meetings and coordinating field operations
• Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
• Working closely with superintendents to ensure projects stay on schedule, on budget, and meet quality standards
• Overseeing multiple active projects simultaneously

The Projects

• 85% New Construction | 15% Re-Roofing & Service
• Typical project values between $350K-$500K
• Significant sheet metal scope
• Local projects within approximately 40 miles
• Consistent backlog with a steady pipeline of work
