Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water and wastewater construction projects in the Bay Area. You will oversee from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction PM, strong financial and contractual skills, and a track record with public works in California.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • Experience delivering water/wastewater, treatment plant, pump station, pipeline, or related heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of contracts, drawings, specifications, scheduling, cost controls, and change management
  • Experience on public works or municipal infrastructure projects in California preferred
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, owners, engineers, and field teams
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and change-order management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered

Responsibilities

  • Manage water/wastewater projects from award through final completion and closeout.

  • Partner with Superintendents to develop construction plans, sequencing, schedules, and site logistics.
  • Identify project risks early and develop practical solutions to protect schedule and profitability.
  • Monitor project progress and provide cost-to-complete and financial forecasts.
  • Lead owner and project meetings and maintain relationships with clients and engineering partners.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance standards.
  • Support and mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Assist with preconstruction, estimating, constructability reviews, and pursuits as required

The Opportunity

A well-established and rapidly growing General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Bay Area operations. The company has a strong reputation for delivering complex public infrastructure projects and is continuing to expand its presence across the Northern California water and wastewater market.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with heavy civil and water/wastewater experience who wants to take ownership of challenging projects while joining a contractor with a strong backlog, established client relationships, and significant growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of water and wastewater construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage water/wastewater projects from award through final completion and closeout.
