Job summary

Hydromax USA is seeking a Project Manager to lead field operations for water utilities projects across the US. You will plan, estimate, and execute projects with regional travel, manage crews, and maintain strong client relationships. This role emphasizes safety, scheduling, and cost control in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to senior leadership and collaborate with sales, operations, and technology teams to deliver successful project outcomes and long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' underground utility management experience.
  • Experience as Project Manager or Project Engineer overseeing field operations, estimating, contracts, and client relations.
  • Ability to obtain underground utility contractor license.
  • Strong leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop initial project estimates with sales support and assist in proposal development.
  • Manage projects to achieve target gross margin, milestones, and client satisfaction.
  • Direct project teams with clear scope, schedule, and budget; ensure compliance with plans.
  • Lead safety and training meetings; coordinate with field staff and crews.
  • Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders; address changes in scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Ensure training and compliance with training manager; oversee project controls and reporting.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships and provide ongoing mentoring to supervisors.

We’re looking for PM’s who want long-term careers doing important work in technical field services that will grow into our future company leaders. A typical week is doing some planning with the team out of your home on Monday and then meeting with crews and clients for the rest of the week knocking out projects and initiatives. The majority is regional travel, you’ll get a nice vehicle and gas card to do the job, it’s a fantastic role for people who love to be in the field doing important water utilities projects everyone depends on. Looking for inspiring PM’s with experience managing direct reports, budgets, a history of running safe crews, solving problems and building trusted client relationships.As Project Manager, you will play a significant role in our growth at Hydromax USA. You will serve as the main liaison between our Customers, Water Operations, and our Technology Team to ensure project launches and technology solutions are successful throughout the US. This role will report to the VP of Water & Wastewater Solutions.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage operations through the development of initial project estimates with sales team and support of proposal development, client engagement on project planning and execution, project management of short and long-term projects to achieve target gross margin, production milestones, and client satisfaction.Oversee and approve weekly job cost updates and monthly revenue projectionsOversee and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination, and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.Manage and motivate staff to maximum productivity and cost control, and facilitate and conduct scheduling, safety, and training meetings/workshops.Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all project work; determine and oversee all project controls, schedules and budgets.Serve as project representative with client, constructor, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.Review project progress reporting and identify and put plans in place to address where a project needs additional focus.Coordinate training and compliance measures with training manager to ensure project procedures are followed.Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.Maintain ongoing communication with client, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client needs within contractual obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client and HUSA needs.Provide ongoing training and mentoring to Field Supervisor and crews to promote employee development.Job Qualifications and Skills:5+ years' underground utility management experiencePrior experience as Project Manager or Project Engineer where responsibilities include field operations in a service-related utility industry, estimating, contracts management, and client relations.Ability to obtain underground utility contractor license.Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding HUSA’s policies, procedures, and software programs.Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.Team building leader, with strong planning and organizational skills; adept in operations including contracts, negotiations, estimating, project operational controls, and dispute resolution.Position requires regularly standing or sitting for extended periods.Proficiency in planning and management of scope of work and time estimationExcellent communication and leadership skills at the executive level
