Project Manager – Technology & Construction

Summary of Role

Our dynamic client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex technology deployments within large-scale commercial and public facilities. This role requires a unique combination of project management, construction/site coordination, technology implementation, and client leadership.

The Project Manager owns projects from post-sale handoff through planning, site readiness, installation, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and final closeout. Deployments often involve the installation and integration of IoT sensors, gateways, digital signage, networking/connectivity, mobile applications, and cloud-based software within active facilities. Projects may require coordination with airport authorities, facility teams, general contractors, electrical contractors, low-voltage contractors, IT/networking teams, janitorial partners, technology vendors, and other stakeholders.

The Project Manager is ultimately accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, technically ready, and with a high level of client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership & Delivery

Own assigned projects from internal sales handoff through final client acceptance and project closeout.

Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including scope, schedule, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, risks, budget, installation activities, training, go-live, and closeout.

Establish clear project milestones and proactively manage adherence to project logs, and project records.

Identify risks, delays, scope gaps, and potential roadblocks early and develop corrective action plans before they impact delivery.

Manage multiple concurrent projects across different customers, locations, and stages of implementation.

Drive projects forward independently rather than waiting for clients, vendors, or internal departments to determine next steps.

Ensure all stakeholders understand upcoming deadlines, dependencies, responsibilities, and required deliverables.

Construction; Site Coordination

Coordinate technology installations within active construction and operational Review project plans, floor plans, site drawings, installation layouts, equipment locations, and other project documentation as applicable.

Participate in site walks and pre-installation meetings to validate field conditions and installation requirements.

Coordinate with general contractors, electrical contractors, low-voltage contractors, facility teams, IT teams, and other trades to ensure installation requirements are incorporated into the overall project schedule.

Understand construction sequencing and identify dependencies that may affect technology installation or commissioning.

Coordinate site access, badging, security requirements, escorts, work hours, loading/access requirements, staging areas, and other site logistics.

Confirm site readiness prior to mobilization, including power, network connectivity, mounting locations, infrastructure, and required client-provided resources.

Coordinate installation schedules and ensure field teams have the appropriate equipment, documentation, access, and information before arriving onsite.

Monitor field installation progress and quickly escalated or resolve issues affecting schedule, quality, safety, or scope.

Manage punch-list items through completion and ensure outstanding installation issues are formally tracked and closed.

Manage technology deployments involving IoT devices, sensors, gateways, digital signage, mobile applications, networking/connectivity, APIs/integrations, and cloud-based software.

Coordinate closely with Technology, Implementation, Configuration, Operations, Client Success, Purchasing, and Support teams.

Understand project technical requirements well enough to translate between clients, contractors, field technicians, and technical teams.

Coordinate network and connectivity requirements with customer IT departments, including Wi‑Fi, cellular, ethernet, firewall, security, and related infrastructure requirements when applicable.

Track equipment procurement, shipping, inventory, installation, activation, and Ensure hardware is properly installed, communicating, configured, tested, and reflected accurately within the platform.

Coordinate system configuration, user setup, data requirements, integrations, dashboards, workflows, and other technical dependencies required for go‑live.

Manage testing and commissioning activities and ensure identified technical issues are assigned, tracked, escalated, and resolved.

Ensure projects transition cleanly from implementation into ongoing Client Success and Technical Support.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary client contact for assigned projects.

Establish project governance, communication cadence, meeting schedules, escalation paths, and stakeholder responsibilities at project kickoff.

Lead client kickoff meetings, project reviews, construction/installation coordination meetings, status calls, and closeout meetings.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Own the coordination between departments and ensure required information moves between teams at the appropriate stage of the project.

Establish clear owners and deadlines for project tasks and hold internal and external stakeholders accountable for commitments.

Escalate issues appropriately while bringing recommended solutions—not simply reporting problems.

Conduct internal handoff meetings before implementation and formal operational handoffs following go‑live.

Ensure Sales commitments, contracts, statements of work, technical requirements, and client expectations are understood by the delivery team.

Budget, Scope & Change Management

Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and technical performance.

Monitor project costs and identify potential budget overruns before they occur.

Review contracts, proposals, statements of work, and project requirements to ensure delivery aligns with what was sold.

Identify out-of-scope requests and coordinate change orders or scope modifications as appropriate.

Maintain documentation of client decisions and approvals that affect project scope, cost, or schedule.

Quality, Go-Live & Closeout

Develop and manage go‑live readiness plans for assigned projects.

Confirm hardware, software, configuration, integrations, training, documentation, and support requirements are complete prior to launch.

Coordinate user and operational training with appropriate TRAX teams.

Conduct project closeout and ensure outstanding punch‑list items are resolved.

Ensure all final project documentation is organized and transferred to Client Success and Technical Support.

Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned, process improvements, and recurring risks.

Track project performance against defined success criteria and delivery

Requirements
Required Qualifications

5+ years of project management experience, preferably managing technology implementations, construction projects, low-voltage installations, IoT deployments, building technology, facility technology, or similar projects.

Demonstrated experience managing projects that involve both physical installation and software/technology implementation.

Experience working in active construction, renovation, facility, or operational Working knowledge of construction schedules, site coordination, contractors, trades, drawings, punch lists, commissioning, and project closeout.

Strong understanding of technology deployment concepts including networking, connectivity, hardware installation, software configuration, and system testing.

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing schedules and priorities.

Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with both executive stakeholders and technical/field personnel.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

Demonstrated ability to identify problems early, make decisions, and drive resolution with limited supervision.

Experience managing budgets, schedules, vendors, scope, and change management.

Ability to travel to client locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Technology, Business, Project Management, or related field.

PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification.

Experience with Teamwork, Procore, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar project management platforms.
