Project Manager, Technology
Location: Columbus, OH/Remote
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Department: Technology
Motion.cloud's Delivery Project Managers own overall customer installation projects. As Technical Project Manager, you will own the Technology organization's commitments into those projects. You will work with Delivery PMs to understand upcoming needs, schedule Technical Field Engineer (TFE) support, coordinate hardware and software dependencies, and ensure technical capabilities are ready when projects need them. Because the same Technology teams also perform R&D, develop new capabilities, and support existing deployments, you will help balance customer-project demand against available capacity and internal priorities. You will also coordinate smaller technical initiatives such as testing and approving new sensors, gateways, and other technologies for production use. This role requires strong project-management fundamentals, technical fluency, and a practical understanding of Agile and Scrum.
Good at seeing scheduling conflicts and technical dependencies before they become project problems.
When a Delivery PM needs field engineers, new hardware, or an upcoming software capability, the Project Manager Technology wants to understand whether the people and technology will actually be ready—not simply put the requested date on a calendar.
Comfortable negotiating priorities and schedules across teams with different objectives.
Can work effectively with engineers without needing to be the subject-matter expert and understands enough about hardware and software development to recognize meaningful risks and dependencies.
Appreciates Agile and Scrum as tools for visibility, prioritization, and continuous improvement, and knows that hardware, field work, and customer deployments do not always fit neatly into a software-development process.
Most importantly, creates a reliable link between Delivery and Technology: Delivery understands what Technology can commit to, and Technology has enough visibility and planning discipline to meet those commitments.
Play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, direction, and market presence of a rapidly growing company.
Influence the future of data center construction through innovative technology.
Work with a high-performing executive team committed to impact, transparency, and excellence.
