GPI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Structural Building Design to join our growing team in Scranton, PA. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage and deliver a variety of building design projects while collaborating with architects, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Responsibilities
- Manage structural engineering projects from proposal through final design and construction support.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial, institutional, industrial, and public-sector building projects.
- Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop structural designs, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
- Coordinate closely with clients, architects, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines.
- Mentor and supervise structural engineers, EITs, and technical staff.
- Review and seal engineering documents, calculations, and plans, as appropriate.
- Participate in business development activities, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, and project interviews.
- Support quality control initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.
- Assist with strategic growth initiatives within the Scranton market and surrounding regions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering focus.
- Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience, including project management responsibilities.
- Experience designing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood building structures.
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar programs.
- Experience in business development and client management is highly desirable.
