Job summary

Henderson Scott US in New York seeks a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will develop schedules, manage budgets, coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture, 5+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial/multifamily/residential construction.
• Experience with developers/GC/design-build firms.
• Experience managing self-perform operations preferred.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of construction projects, including preconstruction, budgeting, procurement, execution, and project closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate with ownership, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and field operations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee contract administration, RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
• Partner closely with Superintendents and self-perform field teams to coordinate daily construction activities and maintain productivity.
• Monitor project costs, review subcontractor pay applications, and prepare owner billings and financial reports.
• Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to minimize schedule delays and cost impacts.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
• Support project turnover by coordinating inspections, punch lists, closeout documentation, and owner training.

• Experience working for a developer, general contractor, or design-build firm.
• Previous experience managing self-perform construction operations is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client relationships.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
