Job Overview:
Merrick Construction Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the construction of beautiful, custom homes throughout Monmouth & Ocean County. As a Project Manager, you will be entrusted to orchestrate every aspect of high-end residential construction projects — delivering exquisite craftsmanship, managing timelines, and ensuring an exceptional experience for our valued clients. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage high-end residential construction projects from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Supervise on-site personnel and subcontractors to ensure quality craftsmanship and safety.
  • Interface professionally with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Provide daily onsite management and maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Schedule materials, labor, and subcontractors efficiently to meet or exceed project timelines.
  • Conduct weekly site meetings and report on project progress.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure project accuracy and coordination.
  • Review and approve product submittals across multiple trades.
  • Enforce accountability among subcontractors and team members to maintain project standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience or architecture/engineering education ; extensive knowledge in high-end finish carpentry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in the residential construction industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and track tasks meticulously — no "all in my head" mentality.
  • Expertise in scheduling, budget management, and task execution.
  • Proficient with emailing.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable and follow through with tasks until completion.
  • Calm demeanor with strong attention to detail.
  • Project Management coursework is a plus.
