Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking a Project Manager, R&D to lead moderate complexity projects from initiation to completion. You will develop charters, management plans, WBS, and detailed schedules, while ensuring budgets and risks are monitored.

The role requires a BS or BA, 4+ years in R&D or project management, and PMP/PRINCE2 certification preferred. Hybrid schedule with in-office days in Cary, IL and work-from-home options.

Work Flexibility: Hybrid

What You Will Do: As a Project Manager, R&D you will be responsible for the leadership and directing of moderate complexity projects, which may require considerable resources. Responsibility for all aspects of the project from initiation to completion. You will interface with all stakeholders affected by the project including end users. To learn more about Stryker’s Sage portfolio click here: Sage Lead the team in developing the project charter and management plan; direct, manage, monitor, and control project activities. Meet with project stakeholders to understand and refine project scope; create a detailed Work Breakdown Structure. Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart; analyze the critical path and major workstreams. Collaborate with the supervisor and/or project PM to establish the sub-project budget; monitor and maintain costs within budget. Develop a risk management plan for the project; identify, analyze, and respond to project risks. Estimate, acquire, and assign project team resources; define roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for each team member. Build successful working relationships with internal and external personnel; understand and apply quality systems.

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree or Businesss Administration degree 4+ years of related work experience in R&D, project management, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: PMP or equivalent certification (e.g., PRINCE2) Experience working in cosmetics, formulated consumer products, or pharmaceutical/drug development environments with knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements Experience using project management and documentation tools such as PPM systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, or Visio Ability to produce and interpret detailed project documentation, including proposals, schedules, and objectives

Additional Information

This role requires you to live within commuting distance of our Cary, Illinois office. Hybrid schedule: in the office Monday–Wednesday; work from home Thursday–Friday. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
