Job summary

Irving Knight Group, a global project logistics freight forwarder, is seeking a seasoned professional in Houston to manage end-to-end ocean and ground project shipments. You will coordinate clients, carriers and vendors, ensuring milestones, budgets and timelines are met while maintaining safety and compliance.

With experience in breakbulk and out-of-gauge cargo, you will optimize routes, monitor shipments, and drive service excellence across complex projects for mining, energy or data center

Qualifications

• MUST have experience in ocean and ground project logistics, breakbulk and out-of-gauge shipments.
• Experience coordinating complex freight forwarding projects and managing operational delivery.
• Knowledge of carrier terms and relationships with project logistics vendors such as Mammoet, AAL or similar.
• Experience in vessel part and full-charters.
• Background in mining, energy, green energy or data center projects is a plus.
• Bonus - Spanish or Portuguese language skills, but not required.
• Bonus - Project logistics carrier background such as SAL, BBC Chartering or similar.
• Strong understanding of international trade documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating client and supplier communication throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Supporting project planning, milestone tracking and delivery against agreed timelines and budgets.
• Working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth execution and service excellence.
• Liaising with carriers, vendors and third parties to secure capacity, align requirements and maintain progress.
• Monitoring shipment status and proactively resolving in-transit issues.
• Supporting vendor discussions and helping secure favorable terms and cost efficiencies where required.
• Attending client and supplier meetings and representing the company professionally in external discussions.
• Coordinating internal resources, contractors and stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Preparing project updates, progress reports and operational summaries for senior management.
• Maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations and internal procedures.
• Reviewing documentation, billing support, accruals and project-related reporting.
• Assisting with business development follow-up where opportunities arise.
• Supporting a high-performance, solutions-focused culture.
