Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Project Manager for its field gas operations team in San Diego County. The role covers the full project lifecycle from estimating and bidding pipeline and gas distribution work through managing awarded projects to closeout, with a path to broader responsibility.

This on-site, full-time position requires a four-year degree with four years of relevant experience (or eight years in a comparable role) and PM experience in pipeline or underground utilities.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 8 years in a comparable role.
• Project management experience in pipeline, gas or underground utility construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with real attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review bid instructions and project plan documents.
• Run quantity take-offs for self-performed and subcontracted scopes.
• Request subcontractor and material quotes and select vendors.
• Build bids in estimating software and review them with operations.
• Prepare bid packages: work plans, schedules, pricing sheets and written deliverables.
• Manage awarded projects: submittals, RFIs, notices, scheduling and billing.
• Own client communication through the life of the job.
