Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL seeks a senior program manager to lead planning, execution and delivery of practice advancement initiatives aligned with our strategic goals. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 5–7+ years in ambulatory practice operations, strategy, program or project management, or related field.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional, enterprise-level projects from planning through execution.
  • Experience mentoring teams, managing resources, risks, and aligning milestones with budgets.
  • Strong collaboration across clinical, operational, administrative, and executive teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end planning, execution and delivery of practice advancement projects with cross-functional leaders.
  • Identify resources, monitor milestones, and mitigate risks to stay on schedule and budget.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, report outcomes to senior leadership, and socialize project collateral.
  • Ensure alignment of strategic project spending with organizational financial policies and goals.
  • Mentor strategy project teams and support executive leadership on special initiatives.

Job description

Overview

Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of high-impact projects and initiatives that drive UFHMG Practice Advancement, Practice Growth and are aligned with the strategic goals of the UF Health CE. This role collaborates cross-functionally with clinical, operational, physician, and administrative leaders to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics. This role is responsible for tracking and reporting project outcomes to UF Health Medical Group Executive Leadership and other functional leadership as needed, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future initiatives. This role supports the SVP UFHMG with strategic initiatives and special assignments as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of practice advancement projects, partnering with clinical, operational, physician, and administrative leaders as needed
  • Identify and oversee practice advancement project resources to ensure project activities and milestones are completed on time
  • Identify and mitigate practice advancement project risks (e.g., operational disruptions, budget overruns, and regulatory non-compliance)
  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators and strategic project outcomes, to create actionable insights for current or future practice advancement projects
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure alignment of strategic project spending with organizational financial policies and goals
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs and socialize project collateral as required
  • Mentor strategic project(s) teams by providing feedback and career development opportunities
  • Support SVP UFHMG with ad-hoc practice advancement initiatives and special assignments as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related) strongly preferred.
    • Experience:
      1. 5–7+ years of progressive experience in ambulatory practice operations, strategy, program or project management, management consulting, or related field.
      2. Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional, enterprise-level projects from planning through execution and delivery, ideally in healthcare or similarly regulated industries.
      3. Demonstrated ability to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics, and to monitor, track, and report project outcomes to senior leadership.
      4. Experience managing project resources, mitigating risks (e.g., operational, financial, regulatory), and ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
      5. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of working effectively across clinical, operational, administrative, and executive teams.
      6. Experience mentoring and developing team members, fostering accountability, and building project management capabilities within teams.
      7. Demonstrated ability to support executive leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, or transformation programs.
      8. Experience aligning project financials with organizational policies and strategic goals, including collaboration with operational leadership.
  • License/Certifications (if Applicable):
    • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other formal project management certification preferred but not required.
