Overview

We’re seeking an Operations Project Manager to support a COO regarding systems and operations optimization. This role is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the identification and implementation of key process improvements. The role involves ensuring proper identification and documentation of as-is/to-be process flows and incorporating associated implementation impacts into the overall plan. This is a remote position with some travel required, primarily during MST & CST hours. All qualified candidates MUST live in and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or C2C.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Work with management to review, optimize, formalize, and document the procure-to-pay/purchase process.
  2. Identify top optimization initiatives and drive their structure and execution.
  3. Manage risks and issues, taking corrective actions using innovative solutions.
  4. Coordinate projects and their interdependencies.
  5. Identify, track, and report program KPIs to assess impact.
  6. Coordinate, manage, and monitor workflow of cross-functional teams.
  7. Manage daily program/project activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Perform quality assurance checks on project artifacts and deliverables.
  9. Facilitate and lead project meetings and stakeholder discussions.
  10. Create documentation to communicate program status, risks, and needs.
  11. Build program documentation such as Program Charter, Risk Log, Trackability Matrix, Status Reports, Project Plans, Budget/Forecast, KPI Dashboard, etc.
  12. Own the overall project plan and manage resources to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and achievement of business goals.
  13. Exercise informed judgment and discretion in significant matters.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of project management and process optimization experience.
  • Strong project management experience in operations, procurement, and/or purchasing.
  • Experience in executive-level communication, KPI analysis, and reporting on large, complex projects.
  • Good knowledge of project and program management methodologies.
  • Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and individual contribution skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Smartsheet, Clarity, Visio, etc.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to find innovative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to process information quickly and present it succinctly for executive audiences.
  • Experience in building project budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and analyzing processes for optimization.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields.
  • PMP certification is preferred.

Compensation

For Colorado-based candidates, Sand Cherry Associates provides a compensation range of $75-$85 per hour for this 6–9-month consulting engagement. Compensation is influenced by experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
