Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead construction projects from initiation to closeout. You will oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and documentation while ensuring safety and quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate with field teams, HR, and clients. You will manage RFIs, change orders, invoicing, and project tracking to deliver value on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in project management or related degree.
  • OSHA/First Aid/CPR training or certifications are a plus.
  • Extensive budget management for construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Leadership experience with proven track record.

Job description


  • Develop and manage all project documentation

  • Schedule and lead project hand-off meetings

  • Prepare construction budgets from plans and specifications

  • Obtain appropriate permits

  • Finalize schedules of values for owner billing

  • Build and manage project schedules with field supervisors

  • Prepare job number requests and electronic timesheets

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, job costs, and profitability

  • Develop and negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders

  • Contractually manage subcontractors

  • Manage vendor and subcontractor documentation

  • Prepare material status logs and collect submittals and product samples

  • Track productivity and review weld and inspection reports

  • Prepare and review internal punch lists

  • Create and distribute RFIs

  • Prepare monthly project billing and invoices

  • Submit credit card receipts and resolve cost discrepancies

  • Price, negotiate, and formalize project scope changes

  • Provide notices of delay documenting schedule impacts

  • Collaborate with Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents on resources

  • Hire field personnel and coordinate onboarding with HR

  • Ensure client satisfaction while balancing scope, time, and cost

  • Review timesheets and conduct employee reviews

  • Manage project safety, quality, and productivity

  • Prepare safety and quality incident reports

  • Approve invoices in accounting software

  • Ensure jobsites remain clean and orderly

  • Update opportunity project tracking and submit it to the CRM Manager


Requirements


  • Previous work experience in project management or BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field

  • OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR Training

  • Extensive work experience managing budgets for construction projects

  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment

  • Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards

  • Understanding of construction management processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively and plan ahead

  • Familiarity with construction and project management software programs

  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs

  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions

  • Conflict resolution and conflict management experience

  • Excellent time management ability

  • Ability to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities

  • PMP, CCM, or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset

  • Design/Build experience would be considered an asset
