About the role

We're looking for a Project Manager for Fossil Fuel Power Generation (Natural Gas) on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W‑2). You should have experience in the fossil fuel power generation arena and will lead the early‑stage project management function supporting project origination and preparing for the implementation of new fossil fuel power generation projects. Projects include natural gas‑fired simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects. You will report to the onsite Manager.

Location: Remote

You will participate in the project to ensure it is completed on time, within budgetary constraints, and performs according to expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the daily management of projects to ensure completion, cost‑effectiveness, and results.
• Use rigorous thinking to work, determine highest priority actions, and tenaciously promote projects forward.
• Act as a liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting, and utility interconnection.
• Help construct contractual arrangements for the project; must be hands‑on and willing to help write contract documents, both commercial and technical.
• Negotiate agreements with equipment suppliers, technical consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree focused on a relevant field associated with fossil fuel power generation or a related field.
• Eight years of experience in natural gas‑fired power generation or related field design and project management.
• Experience in contract negotiation.
• Engineering background to ensure oversight of engineering aspects of projects.
• Skill with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management and scheduling software.

Benefits

Base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $35.00/hr to $40.00/hr.
