Job summary

KINEKTA is seeking an experienced power project leader to drive the engineering, construction, and delivery of natural gas-fired power generation projects. The role requires strong EPC contractor management and oversight across mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines.

You will oversee risks, cost control, procurement, and performance, ensuring commissioning, testing and final handover meet all technical requirements for COD. Remote work with travel is available in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering, construction and delivery of natural gas-fired power generation projects from late-stage development through commissioning and commercial operation.
• Manage EPC contractors throughout project execution, overseeing scope, schedules, budgets, technical deliverables and construction progress.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines, including mechanical, civil and electrical, to ensure effective integration across power plant infrastructure.
• Oversee project risks, cost control, procurement, contractor performance and construction quality, resolving issues that could impact delivery.
• Drive commissioning, testing, performance validation and final handover, ensuring projects meet technical requirements and are ready for commercial operation.

Requirements

• 10–20 years of relevant experience in power engineering, power plant construction or project management, focused on natural gas-fired generation.
• Proven experience delivering power generation projects from late-stage development through engineering, construction, commissioning and commercial operation (COD).
• Strong EPC contractor management experience, including contract negotiations, schedule oversight, cost management and contractor accountability.
• Background as an owner's representative or within an EPC contractor, with the ability to oversee complex power plant construction and delivery.
• Technical expertise in mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, supported by a track record of successful project delivery. A formal engineering degree is beneficial but not essential where experience demonstrates equivalent capability.
