Job summary

PCI Kansas City is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation based in Kansas City, KS. You will manage full lifecycle of insulation projects, coordinate with clients, GCs, field teams, and subcontractors, and lead field operations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in construction, strong reading of specs/drawings, solid vendor relationships, proficiency with digital takeoff software, and a proven ability to collaborate in a team while

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical insulation projects (pre-construction through closeout).
• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and profit & loss responsibilities.
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure project execution.
• Lead field operations, including labor planning, productivity tracking, and performance management.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, meet milestones, and address delays or risks.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks and resolve jobsite issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and client requirements.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment for insulation systems.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals for scope accuracy and proper installation.
• Oversee change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Coordinate insulation with mechanical systems across trades.
• Build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to drive repeat business.
• Lead project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop project engineers and field team members.

PCI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Kansas City, KS. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical insulation projects (pre-construction through closeout), including planning, execution, and final delivery
• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and overall profit & loss responsibility for assigned projects
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution and alignment with project goals
• Lead and direct field operations, including labor planning, productivity tracking, and performance management of crews and supervisors
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and proactively addressing delays or risks
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, resolving jobsite issues to avoid rework, delays, or cost impacts
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and client requirements, maintaining a strong safety culture across projects
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment specific to mechanical insulation systems (pipe, duct, vessel insulation, etc.)
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure scope accuracy and proper installation of insulation systems
• Oversee change orders, RFIs, and project documentation to maintain accurate project records and financial alignment
• Collaborate across multiple trades to coordinate insulation installation with mechanical systems, ensuring proper sequencing and system readiness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to drive repeat business and project success
• Lead project meetings, communicate updates with stakeholders, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and financial status
• Mentor and develop project engineers and field team members, supporting team growth and long-term success

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 3-5 years of professional experience on construction projects
• Must have eexperience in the mechanical insulation scope of construction subcontracts
• Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI's scopes of work
• Has a s trong record of establishing and maintaining successful vendor relationships
• Displays e excellent verbal communication

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with working with union representatives.
• OSHA Certification.
• Local to the Kansas City metro area is preferred
