Summary

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects on time and within budget across various markets including Semiconductor, Data Center Markets, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Manufacturing. The position requires 5-7 years of construction project management experience, preferably with a Mechanical Contractor. Applicants with Military experience are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• The Project Manager is responsible for the successful completion of all aspects of the project.
• Manages overall project operations including field labor and productivity, scope management, construction schedule, client relations, job cost management, cost control, change order management, and compliance with project specifications.
• Prepares monthly financial forecasts and updates.
• Enforces UMEC Safety Program and coordinates with Safety Director to ensure site safety practices are followed.
• Coordinates purchase of necessary materials, equipment, rentals, and services with the purchasing department.
• Ensures proper processing of all project correspondence, records, and reports.
• Complies with all company operating policies, procedures, and programs.
• Directs and oversees the work activities of direct reports.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• 5-7 years of mechanical construction project management experience or plumbing project management experience, preferably with a Mechanical Contractor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering OR a minimum of 8 years combined experience in field installation and project management in the mechanical industry, with at least 5 years leading complex multi-million dollar Mechanical Projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge and work experience to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Project Management Software.
• Ability to travel to construction project sites in the greater Tempe/Phoenix area.
