Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates in Frederick, MD is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction materials testing projects for commercial and residential land development. You will coordinate and supervise technician staff, review work, and ensure on-time delivery while interacting with clients and attending site meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or Geology preferred.
• 3–5 years of field or project management experience in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, or Construction Project Management preferred.
• Engineer in Training or Registered Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• Experience managing a construction project backlog between $1-3 million.
• Experience estimating labor requirements for various types of construction projects.
• Experience interacting with clients and business development experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction materials testing services for commercial and residential land development projects.
• Coordinate, supervise, review, and direct technician staff for earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, steel, EIFS, and pavement testing.
• Prepare and submit bids and proposals and attend pre-bid meetings.
• Conduct on-site inspections including soil bearing and compaction tests, and concrete/steel inspections.
• Meet with clients and attend site meetings as necessary.
