Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates in Frederick, MD is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction materials testing programs for commercial and residential land development projects. You will supervise field staff, review results, coordinate with clients, and drive project success in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or geology, 3–5 years of PM or field experience, and knowledge of testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or geology.
• 3–5 years field or project management experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, or construction project management.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required.
• Experience estimating labor requirements for various construction projects.
• Some business development experience and ability to interact with clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction materials testing services for commercial and residential land development projects.
• Oversee on-site inspections including soil bearing, compaction, concrete, and steel.
• Coordinate, supervise, and review technician staff.
• Prepare bids and proposals; attend pre-bid meetings.
• Meet with clients and attend site meetings as necessary.
