Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of private Site Development and municipal civil engineering projects.
• Oversee the preparation of Land Development plans and construction documents.
• Complete site layout, grading, utility and stormwater-management design.
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations and engineering reports.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate permitting for large and complex development projects.
• Meet with clients and assist with the preparation of project proposals.
• Delegate design assignments to junior engineers and drafters.
• Mentor junior staff across stormwater, utility and erosion-control design.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and regulatory submissions.

I am representing an established engineering consultancy that is seeking a Land Development Project Manager to join its Virginia Beach operation.

This position will offer responsibility for the design and coordination of private development and municipal projects throughout the Hampton Roads region.

Salary: $105,000-$150,000, depending on experience

Job Specifications:

• Support the delivery of private Site Development and municipal civil engineering projects
• Oversee the preparation of Land Development plans and construction documents
• Complete site layout, grading, utility and stormwater-management design
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations and engineering reports

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• At least five years of professional civil engineering experience
• Previous Land or Site Development design experience
• Advanced understanding of site layout, grading, utilities and stormwater management
• Experience with erosion and sediment-control design
• Familiarity with municipal and land-use approval processes
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
• Project-management or multidisciplinary coordination experience would be advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Hampton Roads or Virginia permitting experience would be beneficial
