Job summary

Walbec is seeking a Project Manager Summer 2027 Internship to support planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects across the Midwest. You will work with project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and customers while learning in a hands-on environment.

Current pursuit of a Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field with strong communication and problem-solving skills is required.

The Position:

• Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, and project communications.
• Gain exposure to the bidding and estimating process, including reviewing plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field operations to develop an understanding of construction project management.
• Assist with tracking project progress, production, budgets, and key project milestones.
• Support project documentation, contract administration, and recordkeeping activities.
• Collaborate with project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to support project success.
• Learn and apply industry safety practices while participating in field and office-based project activities.
• Shadow experienced Project Managers and Operations leaders to gain hands-on experience in heavy highway and construction management.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
